Amateur Radio Operator

Mike Zero India November Alpha

Hello and thank you for visiting my website.

Welcome

Hi I am Brian - M0INA , I got my full call sign 13/05/2015 Previous call signs I have used are M6HEN, 2E0GCV and to celebrate 100 years of the RSGB MV6HEN.

I operate from my home in Darwen, Lancashire, using my Yaesu FT450 with a 5.2m vertical which has a horizontal extension on the top of 17.7m mounted 3m above ground and fed by a remote atu.

I also use my Yaesu FT2900 and Icom IC260E for 2m with a watson 300 collinear which is also mounted 3m above ground.

I am a member of Chorley and District Amateur Radio Society where I sat both my foundation and intermediate exams. I have made many friends both there and on air with my fellow amateur operators all over the world.

Special thanks to MIDCARS for being the venue of the advanced exam and also to Andy (M0NST) for teaching on the advanced course at the Chorley Club.

My interest in radio was first whet as a teenager using CB Radio. My friends and I used it to keep in touch and arrange social activities, no mobile phones or internet for youngsters back then. We used the CB as a  conduit for our own Social Networking of the time.

We did on occasion take our radio’s, DV27 antennae and 12v motorcycle batteries out to the top of the nearest vantage point. Which in our case was the top of Ashworth Valley near Edenfield and would see how far we could get contacts from. We got some strange looks with all this equipment strapped to our pedal cycles, using whatever we could find to make the fixing brackets.

I am also interested in programming as a hobby and have written a few applications on and off over the years.

My latest work in progress is at a CAT control program for my Yaesu FT450

If you want to contact me or leave feedback, please feel free to use the form on the Contact Page.

Also if you have any information you feel may help me with any of my projects, or if you would like further information on these, again please feel free to contact me.

Kind Regards,

Brian - M0INA

Contact / Feedback

I have recently been active using digital modes on HF and can use most modes, although I tend to use BPSK31 and JT65. The JT65 mode is impressive as it needs only modest power output and the receive capability is equally impressive needing very little signal to noise ratio to work distant stations.

73 and hope to speak to you soon if we haven't made contact already.
